U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Performance Data, Analytics & Technology Summit

Colorado Springs- August 16-17th, 2023: In real life is the best! WiST was on the road again, as Marilou McFarlane presented at the 6th annual U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Performance Data, Analytics & Technology Summit, August 16-17 at the USOPTC West Wing in Colorado Springs.

Shout out to our USOPC champions Rocky Harris, Mike Levine, Dan Webb, Gus Kaeding, and Elliot Schwartz for embracing WiST’s mission, supporting our work and inviting WiST to participate.

Topics included how to identify your own superpowers, how to surround yourself with collaborative and supportive teammates, and how to navigate the overwhelming array of sports technologies necessary for any sports org to thrive today. Marilou presented to the assembled NGB sports performance leaders and other invited guests on the topic: “Culture Drives Success.”

The focus of her presentation was on the reality check that today’s best talent will look for a diverse workforce with an inclusive culture when deciding where to work - it’s important to “stay human.”

“I loved finally meeting so many colleagues in person, and enjoyed meeting so many new people on the sports performance side of our business, including Olympians. This was an incredibly engaging and educational event for all of us, not to mention the happy hour and cornhole at the Phantom Brewery. Can’t do that over zoom!”
