Nina Luker, a recent graduate and student-athlete at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been with WiST since earliest days. She is charged with helping to promote and market Women in Sports Tech. With her experience as a Division I athlete on the women’s rowing team for over 3 years, and her passion for working with sport-related startups, she finds joy working for an organization that encompasses both dynamics. Luker traveled to Cape Town, South Africa over the summer to work for a sport marketing start-up called Varsity Sports, an up-and-coming NCAA for South African universities. As the only female in an international, male-dominated work place, she has experienced what it feels like to be underrepresented. Luker’s passion for sports tech and exposure to the male-dominated industry has brought her to Women in Sports Tech to make a difference and inspire change in our current business environment.
